Thank you to Kleenex Hand Towels for sponsoring this post.
Let’s talk about one of the unseen sides of blogged parties. Everyone always sees the glitz and glam, or finished product, but ever wonder what exactly goes into party planning?!? All of the perfect party set ups that you see on Pinterest are actually planned weeks in advance. There are long days… late nights… early mornings… all so we can have a million (or at least it feels like a million) DIY projects ready to be destroyed in seconds by the stampede of preschoolers that will be arriving minutes after the official party time.
But we have WEEKS to get everything done, so it doesn’t seem too bad. When I decided to throw a Summer Splash backyard bash I had three days. THREE DAYS!!! But that’s ok. Not everything needs to be over the top. My guests are adorable and easy to please. Check out how it all went down, and how Kleenex Hand Towels helped everything come together!
Tuesday: I have a great idea! Let’s throw a party. Lots of water games… ice cream? No… Popsicles! A bunch of messy four year olds will surely help me test out Kleenex Hand Towels that are sitting in my bathroom! I should probably send out some invites… or an email actually.
Wednesday: Uh-oh… What was I thinking?!? Too late now… Got the menu together and gathered supplies. It’s going to be a late night creating some last minute items… or maybe I’ll stick with some simple things like sponge balls and a quick and easy paper banner?
Thursday: Ok… let’s get down to messy business. I need to make some popsicles! It’s a sticky process, but luckily I have the Kleenex Hand Towels to help keep me clean. I love that I have a fresh, dry towel every time I go to wash my hands. No spreading yucky germs in my house!
Friday: Party time!! Guests should be arriving around two. This means I need to be up by 8 to get the table together and snap pictures… Which might be difficult since my four year old wants to taste test every color of popsicle!
Guests arrive and it’s time to get our “swim on!” I let down my hair and enjoy the crazy screams of happy kids running through my house and yard. They LOVE all of the bright colors and last minute decorations. All together I spent a whopping 5 hours planning and executing this fun gathering. I picked some easy activities and kept treats to simple which saved me a lot of time and my sanity. Keep checking back throughout the week for some of the fun details!
