Does anyone else have a little dude (or gal) that is obsessed with MARVEL’S Avengers? We have spent countless hours pretending to be Captain America and the Hulk. He is just ga-ga over the actor Chris Evans and the roll he has played in the series. Personally, I’m totally in love with him too, so you don’t hear too many complaints from me when he begs to watch the movies over and over. ;0)
We are getting ready to PAR-TAY and I wanted to bring in a little superhero fun with the food! The first thing I did was head into the Walmart party section to pick up some supplies. I love that you can pick up themed cups, napkins, plates, or even cute banners for practically nothing. It adds so much to the experience and they all come in handy for serving your favorite treats.
We went ahead and created a snack for our favorite 4 characters; Captain America, Thor, Iron man, and Hulk. Bonus, all of these snacks are healthy treats and would work perfectly for any budget friendly party you might be throwing!
For Captain America we kept it simple with a little red white and blue! I combined some fresh cut strawberries with blueberries and mozzarella stars. For a little added fun I served them with a cute little Captain America circle from the Room Transformation Kit. They are like playing cards that the party guests loved. They couldn’t wait to collect all of the characters.
You can get sliced mozzarella in the cheese aisle which keeps things extra simple. Grab a star shaped cutter to achieve that perfect shape and you are all set! Seriously, this couldn’t be any easier and the results are sure to please every child.
Next up on our list is Thor. These were by far the favorite of the snacks. Cheese and pretzels… The combination is classic and definitely not new to the internet. I think I originally saw this idea over at 2 Cookin’ Mamas. So simple and so easy. Because of that post we’ve started to use pretzels for all sorts of fun stick type snacks.
Assembly is easy peasy. Just cut your cheese (heehee) in small rectangles. Gently push one pretzel into each piece and serve! You’ve got a Thor inspired hammer ready to be devoured.
This one was a little difficult. I wasn’t sure how to best capture Iron Man but luckily I have a sister that is full of great ideas. She suggested making an easy fruit kebab with two of our favorite fruits. Both happen to be the right colors of this super hero!
Just thread pineapple and strawberries (alternating colors) onto a kebab stick. If you are too worried about the pointy end being a hazard for the little’s try using a lollipop stick instead.
Last up, Hulk! He’s one of my favorites for sure. I don’t know why but I always just want to give him a hug when he’s that big green ornery mess.
Every snack we’ve added a fun little piece from the MARVEL Avengers party collection into the fun. I think these masks had to be one of our all time favorites to play around with. It was a hoot to watch all of the children run around pretending to be each character.
So, whether you are looking to spice up your after school routine or add a little extra love to you Birthday on a Budget these snack ideas are the perfect addition. What was your favorite party theme?
