Ya’ll!! It’s that time of year. We are in full Halloween mode. You know when I saw that seasonal candy selection displayed and ready I just HAD to grab a bag. Make sure you check your local Walmart for the bag used in this post. I knew exactly what I wanted to do and I was able to create a set of BOO bags to get a few special people into the holiday spirit!
I’m kind of sort of new to this whole BOO-ing thing. The general idea is that you create a treat filled bag/basket and leave it on the doorstep of your unsuspecting receiver. In this case, we were planning on sending some sweet love to my mom and sisters! I couldn’t think of three better people to get into the holiday spirit with us! First, we gathered supplies. A few simple items and we were on our way!
I started with the overall concept. I wanted three different bag versions (but ended up with waaaaay more thanks to the super adorable American Greetings collection); 1- Witch 2- Ghost 3-Frankenstein. After a quick brainstorm we decided to just use black paper and stickers to decorate which ended up being super adorable and incredibly simple.
I drew out my design on the paper and cut out each piece. A quick dab of glue and we were on our way to the best part: CANDY! We filled these pretty full with our favorite MARS® Candy combos. Who can resist Starburst® Fun Size, SNICKERS® Fun Size (my personal favorite) ,or 3 MUSKETEERS® Fun Size??
And of course, I couldn’t NOT include a printable. How else would they know to pass along the spooky tradition? Keep an eye out for special Spider-Man bags this season in addition to mummy bags and get the Spider-Man Homecoming DVD & Blue-Ray on October 17th at Walmart. Let’s do Some Friendly Neighborhood BOO’ing!
Let’s do a quick walk through of the process to help you get a better idea of each step!
1 – Gather your supplies. You are going to need:
- paper bags
- black papper
2- Using one of your bags as a size guide use your pencil to draw your design. For this example I’m showing you a quick (and adorable) Frankenstein but you can easily adjust to any fun Halloween shape.
3- Cut out each piece using your scissors.
4- Glue your cut outs onto your paper bag. Keep in mind that you are going to want the design to be about 1/4 from the top to keep room for folding/sealing the bag in place.
5- Add finishing touches with a marker. Not all of your bags will require this step. We decided to draw on the mouth and other details to this little guy.
6- Fill it with candy!
So which one will YOU make first?
