Banana Bread

Something about bananas…

We don’t really care to eat them, but every time I’m in the store the bright yellow color catches my attention. The cheap price doesn’t really help. I always think, “maybe this time we will actually eat them…”

But we never do.

A week or so later I’m left with a brown splotchy group of bananas. I hate to see them go to waste… Which means they most likely end up in some sort of baked good. The most requested would be banana bread.

Orange Sweet Rolls

I am a firm believer that you should always start your day off with a good breakfast. I make my little guy a variety of fun morning foods, including both savory and sweet. Our schedule typically goes a little something like this: healthy, healthy, sweet. We eat a lot of omelets, yogurt, granola, and fruit, so when a sweet day comes along we like to celebrate with something great.

The Pillsbury Orange rolls were introduced to me from my high school boyfriend. I think he made them for me once a week. They’ve been high on my list of favorite foods, but I wanted to give them a try homemade instead of pre-packaged. Something about fresh orange zest in a morning dessert just sounds refreshing and oh so yummy.

The only problem I was having is that I am a horrible bread maker. I stick with Rhodes Rolls and don’t venture much further. This was a giant leap for me, and oh so worth it!

Twisted Mac

My hubby decided to be super nice and take me and the little one to Boston’s a few weeks ago. I had never been there, but he promised that every single thing on the menu was amazing and that I wouldn’t be disappointed and he was right!

I decided on the twisted macaroni and cheese, which was out of this world delicious. The waitress talked me into adding the sausage, which took things up another level! As soon as I got home I started searching for recipes, but could never find one that I thought would do it justice.

Last week my sister was driving me around, since I am a genius and broke my right foot and mentioned that she wants to try Boston’s. Of course, after she mentioned it I just had to make that macaroni for dinner!  I decided to use this base recipe, and adapt it to fit our taste.
