These Fudgy Homemade Brownies are the perfect way to get in a sweet fix.
Let’s talk Cosmic Brownies for a second. You know the ones… Gooey squares of chocolate sugar topped with odd colored candies? When I was younger I used to cross my fingers every single time I opened my lunch box with the hopes that my mom had put a pack in there. They were the coveted dessert of choice back in 2nd grade. All the cool kids were eating them and that dessert is what I had in mind when creating these brownies.
I wanted a fudge type bar with a little brownie goodness. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that I totally nailed it. In fact, one of my friends that was recruited as a taste lovers (a phrase my six year old created from “taste tester” because he said he loves all of my recipes… Totally not true by the way. He’s a pasta hater. ) even told me they taste exactly like the cosmic goodness with NO prompting. I simply presented him with a brownie and asked his opinion. I consider that a win.
We like these as is with no additional toppings. If you wanted to go a step or two further you could add some colored candies (maybe M&M’s?) or even a sweet chocolate frosting. Any way you go I’m sure you are going to absolutely love this recipe!
