Here is the truth…
Complicated recipes aren’t his thing. With a short attention span I knew that I would need to find a fun way to incorporate some of our favorite treats and that, my friends, is how our tradition of a snack mix bar was born!
Together we created a couple of our favorite flavor combinations and packaged five sandwich bags with the quick snack mix (one for each weekday). I stuck to the traditional pretzel and cheese combo, call me old fashioned, while my son got super creative. He has decided that sweet granola mixed with the Goldfish cheddar crackers provide the perfect salty sweet flavor punch.
I remember my mom having a small bag of the cheddar variety in the glove box of our car when I was younger. I couldn’t help but smile thinking she always knew just what I needed when hunger started to strike. That tradition has carried on to my new little family. I look forward to those little smiles every time I pick my little guy up from school and watch him climb up to the front and reach into our glove box for his bag of Goldfish® crackers.
