Let’s talk quick apple cider. I’m not sure that I am 100% in love with it. I mean, it makes my house smell unbelievable… but when it comes to taste I’ve never been a huge fan. It always leaves me feeling unsatisfied and disappointed.
Of course when my husband comes to me and asks me to whip up some quickly… what choice to I have but to get in the kitchen and toss things into a pot? The big problem came when I started to search the web for recipes. Most said to cook for 5 plus hours and my man wasn’t willing to wait that long. He was on a mission to create some crazy concoction and needed some cider as a starting point.
It was around my fifth page of search results when I stumbled upon a recipe from Campbell’s Kitchen that looked promising. I used it as a starting point and got a little crazy with the ingredients. It is only cider after all… how can you mess that up, at least I hoped.
Mmmmmmmmm….. The smell is intoxicating. I possibly made this two days in a row just so my house would smell great for guests! It is OFFICIALLY fall!
Believe it or not, I actually drank two cups of this warm little beverage. Well, you could actually consider it one cup since these petite little glasses hold a whopping 4 ounces. The addition of the orange gives it a nice citrus zing.
Next time I want to use a slow cooker with some sliced apples. I think apples cooking all day might make me happy. What are some of your favorite cold weather drinks?
