Simple Turkey Gravy
Seriously. So easy.
The reality is that I stumbled across this by accident. I forgot to pick up my packets for the gravy and my mom let me in on a little secret.
Homemade turkey gravy is actually really simple.
We season our turkey with salt and pepper and slow roast to perfection. You always get at least 4 cups of drippings but if you find you are a little short you can substitute chicken stock.
- 1/2 cup salted butter
- 1/2 cup plus 3 tablespoons flour
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 4 cups of turkey drippings or chicken stock
- Melt the butter in a large pot. Whisk in the flour followed by the pepper. Slowly stir in the turkey drippings (or chicken stock) until fully combined. Cook on low heat until thickened.
