The time has come for me to share what has turned out to be one of THE easiest and most adorable parties in the history of ever. Well, at least in the history of Jesseca throwing parties. This Winter Wonderland party was a collaborative effort between me, Shannon from Lucky Blogs, & Jonie from Just Between Friends sponsored by Tillamook! That’s right, we joined forces with the brand that created the most AMAZING cheese and ice cream. Of all time. Not kidding.
If you look back to July we threw a 4th of July BBQ that was simple and full of décor, game, & Shirt tutorials. Not to mention lots of food & dessert! Our goal was to keep things on the cheaper end, but have a party that would be cute and quick to whip together. Today’s party follows right along with that idea.
I created a giant framed chalk board for my sons room a while back that has slowly made it’s way to my living room and into every party I throw. Jonie whipped up some paper snowflakes and we draped them along the back of the board. This was probably the most time consuming part of the decorations. We also used some outdoor lights that I think added a little pop of winter glam.
Shannon was the genius behind the gold. Isn’t gold the in thing right now? Glitter and gold are consuming my pinterest page, so we decided to join the club and add some extra sparkle to our table. I loved this puffy garland she picked up!
The party menu consisted of two things… Waffles and Tillamook Ice Cream. I feel like it’s NEVER too cold for ice cream, especially if you stack it onto a waffle. We chose to use Tillamook Fireside Smores, Caramel Toffee Crunch, and old fashioned vanilla to top our waffles. Speaking of waffles… We kept things pretty simple with waffle flavors. The Chocolate Waffles won over the kids while the Cinnamon Waffles were favored by the adults.
To add some different heights to the table I stacked some wooden crates that I already had in different sections and used them to display the toppings and three different ice creams!
Now let’s talk toppings… I had all of these in my cabinet so we spent 0 dollars on the fun mix in’s. It also created a great activity for the kids (and adults). Adding toffee bits or crushed chocolate mints can change the entire flavor of your decadent dessert!
Not a fan of the sprinkles and candies? How about a little caramel drizzle?? Kayley has a great recipe for caramel that you can find here!
My favorite of the ice cream flavors had to be the Caramel Toffee Crunch with additional toffee bits sprinkled on top. I’m pretty sure that if this were in my freezer I would hide it in the very back with mounds of frozen veggies concealing it from prying eyes. It’s too good to share. Even with my husband.
Such an odd combination, but oh so good. The warm waffles slightly melt the ice cream resulting in a blend of deliciousness. You know you want to try it…
Or if not stack some cones on the side of the table so that option is available too. That way you can have just a plain ol’ waffle and syrup or stack one (or three) scoops of ice cream onto your cone! I’m sure the question you are all thinking is this…
Why would I need to throw a winter wonderland party?
The answer, why not? Get together with friends, play some games, and get social. The winter is so easy to become a hibernating bear and want to stay snuggled in your warm and cozy bed. Break out of the habit and invite people over for ice cream!
