Chocolate Waffles


  • 1-1/2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs divided
  • 1/2 cup butter melted


  1. Preheat your waffle iron. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and cocoa. Set aside.
  2. In a large measuring cup combine the vanilla, milk, egg yolks, and butter. Stir into the dry ingredients until fully incorporated.
  3. Whip the egg whites until peaks form. Fold into your batter. Pour the mix into your waffle iron and cook until golden brown.
