Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground sausage *see notes
  • 1 cup onino diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 Tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 Tablespoons tomato paste
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 (28oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup half and half
  • 10 lasagna noodles cooked al dente
  • ricotta cheese
  • Fresh basil

Instructions

  • Combine the sausage and onion in a large pot. Cook until the onion is translucent and the sausage is brown and crumbled. 
  • Add the garlic and cook an additional 2 minutes. 
  • Stir in the Italian seasoning, tomato paste, chicken broth, and diced tomatoes. Bring to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Stir in the Parmesan cheese and half and half. Simmer an additional 10 minutes. Add the cooked noodles.
  • Serve with ricotta and fresh basil

Notes

We like to use either ground Italian sausage or hot breakfast sausage for this recipe.
