Ingredients

  • 3 large avocados ripe
  • 1/2 cup finely diced onion red or white
  • 3 tablespoons finely diced cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon fresh minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Pinch cayenne pepper
  • Juice of 1 lime

Instructions

  • Carefully cut an avocado in half, lengthwise. Twist and pull apart each side. Remove the seed of the avocado and scrape the inside into a mixing bowl. Repeat with the remaining avocados.
  • Using a fork, or smasher (affiliate), gently press the fruit until lightly mashed. Try to keep a little bit of texture and avoid over mixing.
  • Stir in the remaining ingredients and serve with your favorite chips.

Notes

I try to season last. Add half of the salt, stir, and taste. From there you can add additional seasoning.
