Baked French Toast Sticks

This easy recipe for baked french toast sticks is the perfect breakfast treat! Great for dunking AND freezer friendly! All you need are a few basic ingredients and 30 minutes in the kitchen!

Ingredients

  • 8 slices thick cut bread
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk or cream
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • pinch salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Zest of one orange

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • 2. Slice each bread slice into three pieces or sticks. Set aside.
  • 3. Combine the eggs, milk, honey, salt, cinnamon, vanilla, and orange zest in a medium sized shallow dish. Whisk to combine.
  • 4. Dip each bread piece in the egg mixture, turning to make sure it is completely coated. Place on the parchment lined pan. Continue with remaining bread.
  • 5. Bake 12 minutes. Remove from the oven and flip each French toast stick. Bake an additional 12 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

Freezer instructions: Cool baked French toast sticks completely. Place in a large zip top bag and freeze. Frozen French toast will last 1 to 2 months if stored properly.
