Peaches and Cream Oatmeal

Enjoy peach season all year long with this homemade peaches and cream oatmeal! Ready in under 5 minutes and perfect for fresh or canned peaches! Dare I say this recipe is even BETTER than the pre-made packets!

Ingredients

  • 1 to 2 peaches diced
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup quick oats
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • pinch nutmeg
  • pinch salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract optional
  • Cream or milk for topping

Instructions

  • Combine the peach, water, milk, quick oats, sugar (if using), cinnamon, Nutmeg, and Salt in a medium microwave safe bowl.
  • Heat for 3 minutes, stirring once halfway through cooking.
  • Carefully remove from the microwave and stir in a small dash of vanilla extract.
  • Top with additional milk or cream and enjoy.

Notes

  • Add more or less sugar to taste. If your peaches are sweet and ripe you might not need any sugar. If they are a little less sweet you might need a teaspoon more.
  • Mix in a handful of blueberries for an even more flavor packed treat!
  • Try almond milk or coconut milk for a sweet flavor boost.
