Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 5 cups granny smith apples peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup quick oats
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce found in the ice cream aisle
  • Vanilla Ice Cream

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Prep a 9×9 inch pan by lightly misting with cooking spray. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl combine the granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss the sliced apples in the mixture until coated.
  • Pour into the prepared pan, spreading into an even layer. You will have extra flour. That’s ok. Let it all fall into the dish.
  • In a separate bowl stir together the oats, brown sugar, baking powder, and baking soda.
  • Mix the butter into the dry ingredients and stir until a crumble texture is achieved.
  • Sprinkle evenly over your apple crisp.
  • Bake 45 minutes.
  • Serve drizzled with caramel sauce and a big scoop of vanilla ice cream.
