Cheeseburger Dip (Easy Oven or Slow Cooker Recipe)
This creamy cheeseburger dip is made with bacon, ground beef, sharp cheddar, and cream cheese for a classic burger flavor in dip form. Easy to prep, oven-baked or slow cooker friendly, and perfect for parties or an easy dinner idea.
1(10 oz) can diced tomatoes with green chiles, lightly drained
1(8 oz)package cream cheese, cut into cubes
2cupsshredded sharp cheddar cheesedivided
Optional toppings: extra baconpickles, green onions
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F and lightly grease a small baking dish.
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crisp. Remove the bacon and place it on a paper towel-lined plate. Leave about 1 tablespoon of bacon drippings in the skillet. Crumble the cooked bacon once cooled.
Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until fully browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain off excess grease.
Lower the heat and stir in the diced tomatoes, cream cheese, 1½ cups of the shredded cheddar, and most of the crumbled bacon. Cook gently, stirring often, until the mixture is fully melted and smooth.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the top. Bake uncovered for 15 to 20 minutes, or until hot, bubbly, and lightly golden on top.
Remove from the oven and top with the remaining bacon and any additional toppings before serving.
Slow Cooker Version
Prepare the bacon and beef as directed, then stir in the remaining ingredients on the stovetop until melted and combined.
Transfer the mixture to a slow cooker.
Cook on LOW for 2 to 3 hours, stirring once or twice.
Switch to WARM to serve and stir occasionally.
Notes
Use freshly shredded cheese if possible for the smoothest texture.
Drain the beef well to prevent excess grease in the finished dip.
If the dip thickens too much, stir in a splash of milk or cream while warm.
This dip reheats best over low heat with gentle stirring.
