Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream or more to taste
  • 2 cups frozen pineapple pieces
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

  • Place the frozen pineapple chunks, vanilla ice cream, and pineapple juice into a high-powered blender. You can also add a squeeze of lemon juice for a touch of brightness.
  • Start blending on low speed to get things moving, then slowly increase to high speed. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and thick. This usually takes about 1 to 2 minutes depending on your blender. Make sure the lid is securely in place before starting.
  • For the classic Dole Whip look, spoon the mixture into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip and swirl into bowls or cups. If you’re not going for the theme park aesthetic, a regular scoop works just as well.

Notes

I like mine a little tangy, so the 1/2 cup of ice cream is perfect. My husband prefers a little more sweet and increases to 3/4 to 1 cup of ice cream.
