Ingredients

For the Butterbeer:

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1-2 tablespoons butterscotch topping
  • 1 cup cream soda

For the Whipped Topping

  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • 1-2 teaspoons butterscotch topping

Instructions

For the Butterbeer

  • In a small saucepan, combine the milk, butter, and brown sugar. Heat over low to medium heat, stirring often, until the butter is melted, the sugar has dissolved, and the milk is warmed through—about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the butterscotch topping and continue mixing until fully dissolved and smooth.
  • Remove the saucepan from heat and carefully pour in the cream soda. Stir gently to combine without losing too much of the carbonation.
  • Divide the mixture evenly between two mugs.

For the Whipped Topping

  • In a mixing bowl, beat the whipping cream on medium-high speed until soft peaks form.
  • Add the butterscotch topping and continue whipping until stiff peaks form.
  • Spoon or pipe the whipped topping over each butterbeer mug. Serve immediately while warm.
