Cook Time 20 minutes minutes
Servings 6
1 pound ground beef 1 (15oz) can Manwich sauce, or 1½ cups homemade sloppy joe sauce 6 frozen garlic toast slices 1 to 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
Preheat the oven and bake the garlic toast according to the package directions.
Meanwhile, cook and crumble the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until fully browned. Drain any excess grease.
Stir the Manwich sauce into the cooked beef. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes, or until heated through.
When the garlic toast is finished baking, use the back of a spoon to gently press down the center of each slice to create a small well.
Spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto each piece of garlic toast and top generously with shredded cheddar cheese.
Return to the oven and bake for 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Colby jack or mozzarella also work well here.
Want it extra crispy? Broil for 1 to 2 minutes at the end.
Homemade sloppy joe sauce gives this even more flavor if you have a favorite recipe on hand.
