Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2/3 cup beef broth
  • 3 oz tomato paste
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • dash Worcestershire
  • 6 hot dogs
  • buns
  • cheese

Instructions

Chili:

  • Place the ground beef into a medium saucepan over medium heat. Break it apart with a spatula and cook until no pink remains, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess grease if needed.
  • Stir in the beef broth, tomato paste, ketchup, chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well, bring to a simmer, and cook uncovered for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
  • While the chili simmers, place the hot dogs in a warm skillet. Cook, turning every couple of minutes, until browned and heated through, 5–7 minutes.

Assembly:

  • Place each hot dog in a bun. Spoon chili over the top and add shredded cheese or any toppings you love.
  • Enjoy immediately while hot.

Notes

We like to serve this recipe with ketchup, mustard, onion, relish, and jalapeno as toppings.
