Ingredients

Strawberry Syrup

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup sliced strawberries

Latte

  • 1 shot espresso
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla syrup optional

Instructions

Strawberry Syrup

  • In a small saucepan, combine the sugar, water, and sliced strawberries.
  • Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  • Once the mixture starts to boil, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 5 to 10 minutes. The strawberries will break down, and the syrup will thicken slightly.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat. Use a fine mesh strainer to strain the syrup into a bowl or jar, pressing the strawberries to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the strawberry pulp.
  • Let the syrup cool to room temperature. You can store it in the refrigerator for up to a week.

Latte

  • Brew a shot of espresso or make a strong cup of coffee using a French press, Moka pot, or any strong coffee brewing method.
  • In a separate glass or small pitcher, combine the milk with 2-3 tablespoons of the strawberry simple syrup. Stir well until the syrup is fully mixed with the milk. Adjust the amount of syrup based on your desired sweetness.
  • Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
  • Pour the freshly brewed espresso over the ice.
  • Slowly pour the strawberry-flavored milk into the glass over the ice and espresso. The milk will mix with the coffee, creating a beautiful layered effect.
  • Give the drink a good stir to mix all the flavors together.
  • (Optional): For a fancy touch, you can garnish your iced strawberry latte with a few slices of fresh strawberries or a sprig of mint.

Notes

  • Use Fresh Strawberries: Fresh, ripe strawberries will give the best flavor. You can also use high-quality frozen strawberries if fresh ones aren’t available.
  • Perfect Espresso: Use freshly brewed espresso for the best taste. If you don’t have an espresso machine, a strong coffee or cold brew concentrate can work too.
  • Adjust Sweetness: Taste your strawberry syrup and adjust the sweetness to your preference. You can also use alternative sweeteners like honey or agave.
  • Dairy Alternatives: This recipe works great with dairy-free milk options like almond, oat, or coconut milk.
