Ingredients

  • 1 can Bold Manwich Sauce
  • 2 large eggs whisked
  • 1/2 cup italian seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • lbs beef

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly coat a shallow baking dish, loaf pan, or 9x13 pan with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
  • Mix the ingredients: In a large bowl, combine ¾ cup of Manwich, eggs, breadcrumbs, diced onion, salt, pepper, and ground beef. Use clean hands or a wooden spoon to mix until just combined. Avoid using an electric mixer, as it can overwork the meat and lead to a dense, dry texture.
  • Transfer the mixture to your prepared pan and form it into a 9x5-inch loaf shape.
  • Spread the remaining Manwich sauce evenly over the top of the loaf.
  • Place in the oven and bake for 45 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  • Remove from the oven and let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. This helps it set and makes slicing easier.

Notes

  • Do not over mix! Use your hands to incorporate all of the ingredients until they are only just combined. When shaping your loaf, remember that looser is better.
  • Use a higher fat meat. We lean towards an 80/20 ratio.
  • Let your meat rest. Once it has come to temperature, remove from the oven and allow to rest 10 minutes before slicing.
