Ingredients

  • 12 oz frozen broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  • Set the oven to 425°F (220°C). This high temperature is key for getting a nice, crispy texture.
  • Spread the frozen broccoli florets in a single layer on a baking sheet. There’s no need to thaw them first!
  • Drizzle with oil (about 1 to 2 tablespoons should do it). Then, season to your liking. A simple mix of salt, pepper, and garlic powder works wonders, but feel free to experiment with other spices and herbs.
  • Give the broccoli a good toss to ensure it’s evenly coated with oil and seasonings.
  • Pop the baking sheet in the oven and roast for about 20 to 25 minutes. Halfway through, give the florets a stir or a shake for even cooking and browning. You’re aiming for edges that are crispy and slightly browned. The broccoli should be tender but not mushy.
  • Remove from the oven, maybe give it a final sprinkle of seasonings or a squeeze of lemon juice, and voila! Your oven-roasted frozen broccoli is ready to enjoy.

Notes

  • You can substitute fresh broccoli. Wash, cut, and cook as directed. Start checking around 15 minutes. 
  • Adjust the seasonings to your preference. I like a little more garlic. 
  • You can mix all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl vs the tray- if you are ok with one more dish.
