Ingredients

Single Serving:

  • 1/2 oz lime juice about half a lime
  • 2 oz tequila
  • grapefruit soda
  • ice

Pitcher (4 servings):

  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 3/4 cups tequila
  • 3 cups sparkling grapefruit soda
  • ice

Instructions

Single Serving:

  • Fill your glass with ice. Choose a highball or rocks glass and fill it about ¾ of the way with ice cubes.
  • Add the lime juice and tequila. Squeeze in about ½ oz of fresh lime juice (roughly half a lime), then pour in 2 oz of blanco tequila.
  • Top with grapefruit soda. Add 4–6 oz of chilled grapefruit soda, like Jarritos or Squirt. Stir gently to combine and garnish with a lime wedge if desired.

Pitcher (4 servings):

  • Prepare your pitcher. Fill a medium-sized pitcher about halfway with ice.
  • Mix the base. Add 2 oz of fresh lime juice and 8 oz (1 cup) of blanco tequila to the pitcher. Stir well to combine.
  • Add the fizz. Pour in 2 cups of grapefruit soda. Gently stir and add a few lime slices for presentation. Serve immediately in ice-filled glasses.

Notes

  • Do NOT use a cocktail shaker. The carbonation in the soda will cause this to explode into a giant mess.
  • Line the rim of your glass with salt for added flavor.
  • One lime is usually enough for two drinks.
  • We use short glasses for our cocktails. For a more sweet flavor use a tall glass and more soda.
  • Can’t find grapefruit soda? You can add fresh grapefruit juice and club soda in its place.
