Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb breakfast sausage
  • 8 oz shredded cheddar
  • cup bisquick
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup milk

Instructions

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage, breaking it into crumbles as it browns. Don’t drain the grease—this helps keep the biscuits moist and flavorful. Let it cool slightly while preparing the dough.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the Bisquick and milk. Stir until a soft dough forms. The dough may be slightly sticky, but that’s okay!
  • To the dough, add the cooked sausage (with grease) and shredded cheddar cheese. Gently fold everything together until evenly distributed, but don’t overmix.
  • Divide the dough into six equal portions and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. You can shape them into rounds or drop them straight onto the sheet for a more rustic look.
  • Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through. Let them cool slightly before serving.
