Best Strawberry Margarita Recipe Ingredients
The beauty with this cocktail recipe is that you can use either fresh or frozen berries. That means you won’t have to wait for the fruit to be in season to sip on your favorite drink! Here is what you need to get started.
- Tequila
- Orange liqueur
- Fresh or frozen strawberries
- Limeade concentrate
- Ice
- Sugar to taste, optional but helpful if you use fresh strawberries
You want to be sure to use a good silver tequila. A budget friendly version that always works well is Jose Cuervo Blue Agave. The strawberries have a bold flavor that blend well with the mild tequila.
Adding sugar to the recipe is not necessary, but if you are using fresh berries I recommend it.

- Add 1 to 2 cups of ice.

- Enjoy with fresh fruit garnishes or a sugared glass rim.
Blended Strawberry Margarita Tips and FAQs
- We do not thaw our strawberries before adding to our blender. They tend to already be slightly soft and mix in easily.
- For a thicker margarita add more ice. If you like yours thinner add slightly less. You can also opt to leave the ice out altogether.
- For a stronger drink, cut the amount of berries in half or add an additional 1-1/2 oz. of tequila and 1/2 oz. of triple sec.
- This recipe is simple to customize. Swap the berries for whatever fruit you have on hand. We especially love mango or pineapple.
How To Make A Strawberry Margarita On The Rocks:
No blender? No problem!
- Using fresh strawberries, muddle slightly in the bottom of a pitcher. Add the tequila, orange liqueur, and limeade concentrate. Stir well.
- Add to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well and strain into a glass.
- OR pour directly over the top of ice inside of your glass.
This version tastes great topped with a little lemon lime soda or ginger ale.
