Polar Bear Oreo Cookies

Oreo cookies have a special place in my heart.

Not only do they taste amazing, but they are inanely easy to decorate. All you need is a little melted chocolate, and a steady hand, to give you endless options.

This week we decided to create our very own:

Polar Bear Oreo Cookies Tutorial

It seemed fitting that we would go with an arctic animal. Temperatures here in Utah are in the 30’s. That might as well be below freezing to this California native.

I am freezing.

Which is where the inspiration came from for these little guys.

They are SUPER simple to make. You do need to prep your ingredients and have a little patience.

A steady hand goes a loooooong way in getting these to look adorable. Bonus? They do not need to look perfect. Any imperfection adds character.

How to make character Oreo cookies:

  1. Dip the back of a mini vanilla wafer cookie in melted chocolate. Secure to the bottom half of your Oreo cookie. Let dry.
  2. Dip the entire cookie in melted chocolate. Tap off excess and place on wax paper.
  3. Working quickly, add mini marshmallow ears and M&M nose.
  4. Let dry completely.
  5. Once dry, carefully dip the marshmallow ears in melted chocolate to cover.
  6. Use an edible marker or black frosting to draw eyes.
