Easy Strawberry Lemonade Recipe

It’s summer time and the livin’ is easy. Well, technically it is still spring. But we are so close to warm summer days I can taste it!

We are gearing up for long sunny days, bike rides, hikes, camping, picnics, and so much time spent outside. We’re going to need a go-to drink, and this is it! This lemonade recipe is filled with lemon juice, a sweet simple syrup, and fresh strawberries! It is the perfect refreshing drink to keep on hand.

Did I mention it also happens to be super simple? There are only four ingredients and it comes together in under 20 minutes! Make sure to use fresh and ripe berries and adjust the sugar to your taste.

Lemonade with Strawberries

I opted to use a simple syrup, but you definitely could skip that step. I find that it cuts back on the gritty texture you can sometimes get with homemade lemonades.

Strawberry lemonade recipe ingredients:

  • Strawberries
  • Lemon Juice
  • Sugar
  • Water

How to make homemade strawberry lemonade:

  1. Combine 1 cup of sugar with 1 cup water in a small pan. Heat until sugar is dissolved. Remove from the stove and cool.
  2. Place the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar and strawberries in the bottom of a large pitcher. Mash with the back of a spoon until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the lemon juice until dissolved. Add the remaining seven cups of water.
  4. Serve over ice with additional strawberries if desired.

TIP: Not a fan of big fruit pieces in your drink? Allow the lemonade to sit for 2-4 hours in the refrigerator after preparing. Strain the fruit pieces from the drink just before serving.

BONUS: This recipe has just the right amount of sweetness, but doesn’t leave that sticky aftertaste you get from some lemonade recipes! It is so light and refreshing.

Can you use frozen strawberries?

Yes! This recipe is extremely easy to adapt. You can use frozen berries as long as they are thawed.

You might also consider trying blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, or even mint! All of these options can give your lemonade a unique and fun flavor twist!
