I wasn’t planning on posting today. I have hit a bit of a creative slump and had decided to take the day off. I was making boring ol’ French toast when I had sort of a brilliant idea. I’m always adding extracts, sugar, and cinnamon… Why not skip all of that and just substitute with coffee creamer? They have a million flavors out there so the options are limitless. And bonus… you don’t need many ingredients! That, ladies and gentlemen, is how the 3 ingredient Samoa French Toast was born.
1/4 cup Girl Scout Caramel & Coconut Coffee Creamer
4-6 slices of bread
Instructions
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Spread with melted butter.
Whisk together your eggs and creamer. Dip each slice of bread in your egg mixture, front and back, and place on your warmed pan. Cook on each side for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve warm with whipped cream or syrup.
Just to be clear… This is not a sponsored post. I had to show off what we used just in case you want to use the same brand. Hard to believe that one simple ingredient can totally change a recipe. I might be planning on running to the store to buy every other flavor they have. The all natural cinnamon cream seems like a great alternative if you don’t love the coconut flavor. Another thing to think about is the type of bread you use. I love a good homemade loaf (like the one I made yesterday) but this would be outstanding with day old banana bread. My five year old topped his with butter and syrup but to get that true samoa flavor I suggest sneaking in some caramel drizzle with fresh coconut flakes. Since we are all out of those, I decided to go with fresh berries and whipped cream. Well, sort of… You’ll have to come back tomorrow for that recipe! So what do you think? Is it worth giving a try? I’m always a fan of the short ingredient list meals. Especially when it tastes like Girl Scout Cookie goodness!
So I JUST discovered this coffee creamer at the store, and I'm addicted to it. And now I've found this life-changing post, meaning that the addiction will only grow. Thank you, and I hate you a little bit.
