Get your blenders ready because it’s national strawberries and cream day and we are celebrating with a Strawberry and Cream Milkshake!
The secret behind this strawberry flavor explosion is fresh berries. In a pinch you could get away with the frozen version. They taste similar but when you have ripe fresh produce it really makes things shine. This recipe is also amazing with blueberries, raspberries OR peaches so if you feel like being adventurous break out and try new flavors!
I chose to use fresh whipped cream which initially had me wondering if it really would alter the flavor at all but after one test run everyone voted that it was wonderful! We tried again with cool whip and there was a split vote. Both got 5 star reviews so really it will be a personal preference as to which route you choose to go. I also saved a bit of whipped cream to top things off with a tiny strawberry for a beautiful visual appeal but it’s definitely not necessary. Add a colorful straw or two and share with your favorite person… Or drink it all yourself. Not that I did that or anything…
Strawberry and Cream Milkshake
- 2 cups strawberries sliced
- 2-1/2 cups vanilla ice cream
- 2/3 cup whipped cream freshly whipped or cool whip
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Place all of the ingredients into a blender. Whip until smooth and divide between two glasses.
I’m also super excited to share a few recipes from my other favorite bloggers! This list of strawberry goodness is sure to help you celebrate National Strawberries and Cream day and add a little sweetness to your menu!
