Holiday baking season is here! Creating delicious cookie trays is a holiday tradition we look forward to each year! Listed below are a few of our favorite and go-to cookie recipes for any occasion. 

You are going to find everything from traditional Christmas cookies to cut out sugar cookies! There is something for everyone in this list of delicious treats.

What are the most popular Christmas cookies?

This is a tricky question. The most popular holiday cookies differ greatly all over the world. From our research we have found these as the top five Christmas cookies made in America:

• Soft and chewy chocolate chip
• Rolled and decorated sugar cookies
• Snickerdoodles
• Ginger cookies
• Chocolate crinkle cookies

Freezing Cookie Dough:

Freezing cookies or cookie dough can be a handy trick during the busy season. We take one day at the beginning of the season to whip up batches of our favorite cookie dough. Following the instructions in my post, How to freeze cookie dough, we freeze the batter and bake fresh cookies as needed throughout the months.

How to freeze cookie dough:

Drop cookies are by far the easiest to freeze and bake. Examples will be chocolate chip, M&M, and snickerdoodle.

1. Scoop and shape your cookie dough into rounds.
2. Place close together on a parchment lined baking tray.
3. Freeze for 1 hour.
4. Remove and store in a freezer safe bag or air tight container. Be sure to label and date.
